The Flooded Drain

A raised kerb runs along one side, just wide enough to keep your feet out of the flow. From one end to the other is 2 paces, too narrow to pass anyone in. A wooden bucket has been jammed into a crack in the ceiling, bottom first. A wooden sluice-board leans against the wall, warped into a slow curve by the wet.
