The Weeping Basin

Standing water covers the floor to the depth of a finger, and it is perfectly still. A cairn of loose stones stands against one wall, deliberately made. Chalk marks climb the wall in a column, gauging a water level that is no longer this high. There is a hollow sound behind the west wall, as though the stone were not solid.
