The Iron Reservoir

Water gurgles in a drain, swallows, and gurgles again, like something breathing through it. It was a pump room once. The pumps are gone, but their iron feet are still bolted to the floor. By your count it is a great open hall, 5 paces by 6. Pillars march across the room in rows; some have names scratched into them at eye height. The silt here has a sheen on it like pewter. Wet footprints cross the floor and stop in the middle, as though whoever made them simply stood.

You are reading the dungeon, not walking it. Rooms are only created by people, and only from inside the maze.
