The Iron Pumping-Hall
A rope is tied to a ring-bolt and lowered into the black water. It is taut. Drips fall from the crown of the vault in a line down the middle of the floor, as neat as if ruled. By your count it is a great open hall, 7 paces by 5. A great sluice gate hangs open in its frame, bent outward by the weight that went through it.
