The Sunken Spillway

The brick is laid in a herringbone here, and every seam of it is green. The space opens out into a small chamber, roughly 6 by 3 paces. The room spreads out sideways at one end, like the head of a hammer. An arch no deeper than a stride leads into it through solid rock. Whole courses of brick have been pulled loose by the water and lie slumped along the foot of the wall. Someone laid stepping-stones across the flooded floor. One has tipped. A pipe somewhere sings a thin, high note, and stops when you listen for it.

You are reading the dungeon, not walking it. Rooms are only created by people, and only from inside the maze.
