The Iron Pipe-Run

A chain runs along the ceiling from end to end, rusted solid into its hooks. It is 11 paces long, with one sharp turn where the walls are scuffed at shoulder height. A hatch in the ceiling has been welded shut, and someone has chalked a cross on it. Someone has scratched a tally into the wall — 50 marks, the last one shallow, unfinished.

Depth 50.
